Home Designers Shoe Trends – Spring/Summer 2013 (Part 3)

Transparent Shoes

One of the main shoe trends for the spring-summer 2013 season is clear, transparent heels, straps or details. Donna Karan and Stella McCartney decided to go for clear platforms, while Valentino introduced the transparent heels. Veronique Leroy designed transparent wedged boots while other designers only used subtle transparent details.

Thick Heels

Even though they create the impression of extremely heavy shoes, the block heels are very comfortable, creating a very good stability. Designers such as Chanel, Balenciaga, Etro, Guy Laroche and Rebecca Minkoff introduced the thick heels in their spring-summer 2013 collections.

Color everywhere

Fashion designers have moved bright, strong colors from top to bottoms, creating attention-grabbing shoes that would make any dull outfit the center of attention. From bright blue to red or lime green, from heels to platforms, it’s all about color this season. Designers have a thing for eye catchy details this spring, whether it’s the texture, the design or the color.

Shoe Prints

The printed shoes seem to be a hit among the fashion lovers, so they might be here to stay. From floral prints to graphic and abstract prints, from high heels to flat shoes, make sure you have at least a pair in your closet. For inspiration, you can take a look at the Stella McCartney, Peter Som, Dries Van Noten, Nicolle Miller and Guy Laroche collections.
